John Kelly - CEO

John is a Chartered Accountant and has 27 years personal experience of helping the owners of businesses take control of the key strategic issues in owning and operating a business. As part of his own business journey, he has built alliances with proactive business thinkers, taught business skills classes and written many articles to help business owners keep their focus on the main issues in their enterprises.

John is primarily involved in the provision of business advisory services including:

• Business coaching

• Board services for SME’s

• Business valuation

• Cash management and profit improvement

• Strategic planning

• Succession planning

 

John is currently working with a broad cross section of customers in the Dunedin/Otago area. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.
John is also actively involved in serving the community through his involvement in many organisations. Currently he is the Chair of the Taieri Otago PHO Trust and the Mt Cargill Trust.

 

He looks forward to sharing his experience and knowledge with the owners of small to medium sized businesses, helping them take control.

 

 

Alex Lo - Accounting Manager

Alex is a chartered accountant and has been managing the Business Services team for the last 8 years. Alex enjoys taking up opportunities to help our customers to overcome their business challenges. A master of taxation and annual compliance but helping businesses to overcome their cash flow issues and achieving their business goals is his passion.

 

Alex has been involved in various accounting engagements with our customers these include business structuring, succession & transition planning, and also business valuations. Customers hold Alex in high esteem for his ability to assist them to resolve problems with innovative solutions and sound advice and his high degree of technical knowledge.

 

Always interested in the development in new technology, he is very keen in new software, computer systems and accounting systems. In the past 10 years, he has adopted new technology to help improve efficiency in our practice. He has also recommended this to a lot of our customers to assist them in their business. Alex has a very approachable nature so for accounting with a personal touch give him call.

 

 

 

Hayden Yardley CA - Accounting Manager

and Business Advisor 

Hayden is a Chartered Accountant with a number of years of practical experience working with small medium businesses in Otago. Hayden enjoys formulating personal trusting relationships with his customers and acts for them in a business support role. Hayden will bring his proven business acumen and his passion and enthusiasm for making accounting work a valuable business tool for your business that will help you to make informed business decisions. 

 

From a farming background he takes a broad view to his accountancy role and will challenge the way you think about your business. For your business to succeed it is important to have a strong foundation of business support services. Hayden sees this as his role and always keeps one eye on the end objective of your business, constantly reviewing your business model and objectives.

 

Hayden engages clients on a number of levels including business planning and development, business strategy, business structuring, long term tax planning and software support solutions. Wayne Bacon - Accountant

Wayne has been part of the business services team at Kelly & Co for many years. He engages customers in the preparation of year end annual accounts and also there tax requirements. He specialises is GST work and is happy to give advice on any aspect of the GST legislation. Wayne also handles Kelly & Co’s payroll services. Wayne’s customers respect him for his up front nature, experience and simplistic approach to supplying accounting solutions. Currently Wayne is working 3 days a week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

 

 

Jingfang Wu - Accountant

Jing is Kelly & Co’s newest addition to the accounting team, who is continuing her specialised training on her pathway to becoming a Chartered Accountant. She is working within the Business Services team, assisting with preparation of annual financial accounts and income tax returns. She also has GST preparation responsibilities for many businesses. Jing came recommended from a corporate accounting position in Christchurch. Jing is from Beijing speaking Chinese and English making her a great point of contact for many Chinese clients needing help with their accounting and business support requirements. Jing is quickly gaining appreciation from our customers for her willingness to help, and approachable personality.

 

 

Lorraine Kelly - Administration

Lorraine is responsible for the daily operation of Kelly & Co, as well as administration and accounts.

 

She also owns and sometimes works at Stewart Island Motels Ltd called the "Rakiura Retreat." A fabulous place to stay for 3 or 4 days of island adventure.
